For the 2016/17 sports bursaries, the panel selected 7 International Level athletes to award with a financial bursary with the intention of assisting them to reach the very highest level of their chosen sport. The Active-In team were very impressed with each of their applications, as were our guest judges, and we look forward to monitoring their progress with great interest of the next 12 months.
They also benefit from a years free gym membership at any of the Places for People Leisure facilities within the Wycombe District.

Elliot Killington - Hockey
After captaining the England Under 16's team to 5 series victories against the Nerthlands, Scotland, Ulster, Belgium and Germany, Elliot also represented England at the 6 Nations in Belgium.
He has since moved on to the England Under 18's team and has become a key player for the team, as well as a leader both on and off the pitch.
Millie Sansome - Open Water Swimming
After winning silver at the National Open Water Championships, Millie competed as part of the England team in Majorca before representing Great Britain at the European Junior Open Water Championships in Italy where she finished 10th place overall in the 5km event. Millie also raced in the British Championships and Olympic Qualifiers in the 100m backstroke, finishing 19th.
Georgia Keys - Alpine Skiing
An alpine skier that spends several months a year in Austria in order to train with, and compete against, some of Europe's best slalom skiers. One of the only British Skiers to make this move, Georgia has every chance of reaching the World Cup and future Winter Olympic Games.
Jack O'Brien - Tumbling (Gymnastics)
Part of the British Gymnastics Tumbling Squad, Jack has recently impressed in his first International competition in Portugal where he successfully won a silver medal. He is a memeber of Booker Gym Club in High Wycombe, and also trains at Baskingstoke Gymnastic Centre.
